This is a less expensive and therefore a more budget-friendly option, since all you have to do is add a rear-facing seat to the rear of your vehicle. This does require you to add some heavy-duty leaf springs to hold the extra passenger and cargo weight, though. Some rear-seat kits can also turn into a cargo space when you don’t have extra people, but need to do some hauling.

A four-passenger golf cart usually weighs about 1,000 lbs, with a similar weight capacity. Most are built out of steel with a fiberglass frame in order to reduce the cart’s weight.

You can also look into battery-powered electric golf carts, but these will require more frequent charging, may struggle to get over hilly terrain and won’t be as capable of carrying more passengers at once. But battery-powered golf carts are often less expensive than their gas counterparts, which may be a factor in terms of your budget. Just be aware of what you’re getting into, especially when a gas-powered golf cart is more likely to be able to handle more passengers.
